Mt Vernon Street House II

Redecoration, 2011

When all the antique furniture was moved to an antique house on the North Shore, this house was resigned with contemporary furniture. All the period details of the house were left intact. There were a few minor architectural changes; perhaps the change with the most impact was painting the interior of the house entirely white (other than the kids' bedrooms). The house was furnished a more sophisticated contemporary style. Even with a more sophisticated contemporary style of furniture, the overall character of the house is as controlled as the previous scheme. A sense of order and restraint is very much a part of this couple's style, regardless of the period of the furniture.
