The Gold Bar at Menton

2015

When Menton first opened, the concept was to have just a service bar. Guests were seated in the lounge and drinks appeared on a silver tray. Five years later when it was time to tweak the concept, the energy and glamour that a tiny bar could bring to the space seemed appropriate. Fortunately the service bar was situated so that opening the wall to the lounge allowed just enough space for a six-seat bar and five two-tops in the lounge area. Bronze mesh walls, brass light fixtures, gold marble, unique brass barware—and a tongue-in-cheek reference to the expense of dining at Menton—all conspired to give the Gold Bar it's name.
