Interior Architecture and Decoration

We were initially hired for decoration for this project—a few years previously we decorated a house for these clients in Boston. Then they moved from a densely packed neighborhood to this bucolic setting. As the project progressed we got more involved with the architectural interiors including choosing the finishes, helping to develop the (incredible) staircase, designing a system of plaster ornament using reveals and cove moldings, designing four fireplaces including the marble and bronze one in the living room, and the blackened steel fireplace with a guillotine mechanism for the fire screen in the family room,. There is custom cabinetwork throughout the house; walnut dressing rooms are of particular note..
The decoration followed suit. The owners have sophisticated taste which meant that every item in the house is thoroughly considered. Some special items include a custom bronze and glass dining table, onyx sconces, a leather wrapped console, and "dip-dyed" curtains. As a dear friend once said about an interior—and that could be said about this one—"everything is something"
